Law Smith

I do that on purpose. So once I messed it up the first time then

3:54

that's why well, that's what Eric and I were thinking like maybe that you were doing them purpose.

Law Smith

3:58

4:12

That's a good question. I'm not sure

Law Smith

4:14

I've read the book and I forgot I know

4:16

I have the book. I haven't read the whole book.

Law Smith

4:18

I downloaded the audio book. Once once like gifts ones like appreciation. Yeah, one's a food is one. I don't know food one. I think it is. I think that's in the like, service. I think. Oh, oh, touch. Yeah, Mm hmm. Not yourself. You have to touch your partner. And then there's God. I know. I think I'm definitely I was definitely like, whatever the neediness of like, Hey, thanks for doing that. I need to hear I need to hear that. Yeah, whatever that allows you to say, Hey, I appreciate both of you. We appreciate ya see, that makes me feel good. What's been going on? So I haven't seen you in a while. Eric's been working with you on some stuff.

5:13

He's amazing. And amazing. Yes.

Law Smith

5:17

It will spell your name for people that want to know the website SARINAFZA dot media. Yeah, you see, I can't read out loud Really? Well. That's why if I had a script here, I wouldn't be able to read it. And I almost fucking dick that up really bad. Because my head just jumps around. So I could I think that's why I do stand up in a way because I couldn't. I can never read out loud in class or whatever. And you're like, Oh, fuck it. I'm just gonna make a joke. You know, like, pretend to read, right? Yeah, I've always had problems with that. So I have to go super slow. If I read anything, but you did it. I did it. What so what's been going on? I see. I see a new brand. See a new website? Making Moves?

6:02

Yes. And Eric do a great job on the website. Yeah. This is why we have you on

Law Smith

6:08

like this promoted, promoted. And then I saw new artwork for the podcast Trailblazer. Yeah. on SSI. I'm doing your part.

2

Speaker 2

6:20

You are no, please. On on Apple podcast, Spotify,

Law Smith

6:23

all that stuff. Yeah.

6:25

How's that going? It's going great.

Law Smith

6:26

Well guess to be out on recently and it's

3

Speaker 3

6:28

going great. So we've actually been doing a lot of great projects. And what do you think of the office here at Sky strategic marketing, Tonya and the team?

Law Smith

6:39

She's so nice. She's diverted already. She couldn't even play your own stuff.

6:43

We'll talk about that.

Law Smith

6:45

Yes, we're doing this in sky strategic marketing, in PR 's office sky strategic office. I should say

3

Speaker 3

6:52

it's in the office. so neat, though. And this building I remember as a television reporter there my I asked my friends Former Chief photographer at work, he said, Do you remember we used to use stories here at this building? Because this building is such a great building?

7:11

Yeah, no. cigar factory. Yeah, ghost stories. were they? Yeah, please might be haunted. Yeah,

7:16

it's that old.

Law Smith

7:18

It's got like 14 staircases in here to get around. Yeah. Which I labyrinth. Yeah. Which it definitely feels hodgepodge the way it's probably been kept up. And the last hundred and 50 years. It's been around probably Yeah. And there's like, I'm walking up here, the MC Escher staircase. And it's like, there's a ballerina fashionista business in here. There's like, all sorts of there's a bunch of businesses that you aren't sure businesses. You're like, there's this guy live in here, or is this what's going on in here? So

7:53

it'll be so nice to see. It's very centric.

Law Smith

7:55

Yeah. Yeah. In a good way.

7:57

eclectic. Yeah, I would use it right. Yes,

8:00

yeah, similar place in Libra. Like, you know, I loved

8:03

your offices and Ebor, your offices and even more so

8:07

yeah, this is we're rolling. We're gonna settle for anything less eclectic. Yes, there

Law Smith

8:12

we go. I want we want to be around weird. Yeah, we don't think we're weird enough but by comparison we look like a bunch of where they call it normies norm core as the kids call it compared to the real weird Yeah, okay.

8:27

Yeah I'm fine with that.

Law Smith

8:28

Yeah. Oh, oh you don't know about normcore where's that before kids go out of your that

8:34

now I have now they're talking about the guy from cheers

Law Smith

8:37

Yeah, well it's a it's where the kids these days they go out there they're dressing so oddly now that if you're the person that goes out dressed in like khakis and a button down shirt you're you're being the oddball you're being the most odd out of all of them because you're going norm core norm core. Yeah, just sounds like the old frat boy with the fish pill. Yeah, no Dockers. Oh yeah, it's every time I call him for Yes. Yeah, I rejected that. I know it's a thing for sure. It's just not it smell though I am wearing khaki shorts today, but not for dads that were not even in this. We're 30 we're mid 30s Yeah, he's a true yeah. Yeah. So what's uh,

9:22

it's been really neat.

Law Smith

9:23

Yeah. Yes. What have you learned about the quarantine self quarantine?

3

Speaker 3

9:27

Wow. Okay. Well, there's lots of talk about on that right. We get you up in that mic. I know. Yeah. Yes. Can you guys hear me better? Okay. Is this so much better? Yeah. No, this has been. This has been crazy, hasn't it? So what we've been doing is sharing your story, which is right now during the Coronavirus crisis. Of course. There's a lot of stories we've been doing. You know, we we've talked to doctors, I just talked to a judge about the Michigan the mission critical courtrooms that are still functioning What's up, it's So interesting talk about law and order they have to uphold law and order. So right now, there are mission critical courtrooms. That means in Hillsborough County, there's only a couple of courtrooms open where they have to conduct Yep, hearing Hmm. And very few people are allowed, you know, in and out. So I mean, everybody

10:21

golden,

10:22

I'll just say what kind of stuff are they doing? What's what has to be handled right away? I

Law Smith

10:26

still have a couple coordinates coming up and they're gonna tell a special case. Yeah, well, once one's family law and then like, they're like, we'll just do that telecommunicator whatever. And then once a small claims that I think I have to go in for it, honestly, well, some

10:44

want to remit I'm mixing the two they'd have to do the opposite.

3

Speaker 3

10:47

Well, Sam, even if you had so if you have if you have to go into court, just like anywhere else, well, lots of places. They're only allowing so many people in at the same time, right. So It's very limited and most of the hearings are through teleconference Yep. Right now and we're we're getting ready to post a story but juries right now in the state of Florida there probably will not be any jury trials until well past June.

11:22

So that's pretty crazy when you think about it and then

3

Speaker 3

11:25

if you guys think about this, too, it's already hard enough when you get subpoenaed to be on a jury to get people you know, you don't just throw it away. Well, I mean, you know, your civic duty, but

Law Smith

11:37

I never got I never got it, man. Oh, I forgot it. All right. No, no, no, no if I got it or not, but

3

Speaker 3

11:43

don't always just think in general, it's hard to get people even to go to jury duty. But now after we open up, open it up to jury duty, and

Law Smith

11:53

let's face it, it's not the best people in society that are like fired up to go to jury duty. Yeah. If you're not trying To find, if you're not trying to make an excuse to get out of it, then yeah, you probably got too much free time going on. Yeah. It's like if you know, like, maybe I should maybe I should apply for that mesothelioma case or whatever. Maybe. Maybe I should a very specific maybe on a target demo for those for those lawyers in the middle of the day going for class action lawsuits. Maybe I'm in that demo. It's a it's tough to look in a mirror But yeah, I, I'd say yeah, it's hard to get anybody to do anything. It's good. It was hard to get people to go out, just in general before, I would say from doing the stand up shows, I know that and then now you're gonna have this layer of like, weirdness of everybody being OCD and having cooties, and

3

Speaker 3

12:45

Well, I mean, honestly, I just had a guest on the podcast. Her name's Ellie lamb, and she is a who is here, but she's an event planner, and she has a business called social revelry. And we were talking about there's going to be two I think two sections. Right guys, like one segment of the population when when things open again, they're going to be very gung ho Yeah, going out being around people but then there's going to be another huge segment that they're not going to want to do anything because there still be a lot of fear and you know, yeah insecurity about the whole thing. It's hard to, to know what the best choices if you want to be the person that start things back up again. It's like, man,

13:28

doesn't seem like a little early for whatever I've heard, but

4

Speaker 4

13:35

yeah, I don't know. I mean, it's gonna be weird for sure. People think it's gonna turn it right back on about all that Oh,

Law Smith

13:41

wait, I think this as the death ratio versus the the case ratio. I mean, excuse me, the number the ratio gets wider between people dying and how many people have it as that spread gets bigger and ratio. People are going to say fuck it. We don't care anymore. Yeah, if you're not dying as much, because there's because part of the problem is it's a lot of people can have it be asymptomatic. I think the thing that needs to happen is the testing needs to, we need to be able to get it like a pregnancy test and just be able to do it. Yeah, they need to just mail them to everybody's mailing address right to your home, boom, here you

14:22

go, right.

Law Smith

14:23

But then you'll have the people that won't do it won't do it just because they won't test themselves and that they weren't going to do self quarantine anyway. So, hey, we just got done talking about jury duty, they can mail that letter to your house and say, hey, you're right. That's it. That's how you should apply it into jury duty people

3

Speaker 3

14:38

know, but you know what? You're right. Like, if you can, if you can, if there are letters being mailed for jury duty, right. I mean, there's a social contract and well, there's a database with all of our information, right.

4

Speaker 4

14:52

I don't know what kind of I mean, chances are the testing would be like a cheek swab or something. It would have to be pretty advanced. If there's blood Yes. That's even more people are gonna want to give their blood so I say just mail it, you know, but

Law Smith

15:07

there's got to be something that they can do mass numbers of testing before it really is gonna make everybody feel good. It won't be I don't think it'd be administered by the government I just think it would be it would be something that they might make it as cheap as possible for everybody to get it you know like someone's I guarantee there's a race to figure this out right now how do we how do we mass produce this test to check your antibodies and stuff? And you know, or make it available to someone like CVS Walgreens, that is, I think there's a CVS within like, every mile like square mile now, and then Walgreens strategy all they do is they literally will open up across from CVS or, ya know, did you know that? Yeah. And then you the people buy more out of Walgreens the way they set up the aisles.

15:56

They do really

Law Smith

15:58

well, you learn something new every day. No idea. I'm a dork for like consumer behavior like, fun facts like that. So, you go to the grocery store all the endcaps are the way they set those up. It's all it's all really strategic. It's true. Walgreens is much more appealing to the eye when you walk in to the CVS when your snap on it when that part of it when you're looking at aisles in like places and stuff. Well, I mean, it's snap on truck. There's only one aisle. But yeah, but yeah, it's a policeman. Well, I mean, the placement of you know, products within the truck itself definitely matters. Yeah, and so we're i i level is it's it's fun if you catch yourself trying to notice it like, Okay, well, you're going to look where the little stickers are at because they're trying to get your attention right so that's strategically done from from corporate through the grocery store or or whatever retail store it is usually and then if you're in like a Walmart grocery store, one of the big box ones, check where your eye levels at because I level from Guys, it's gonna be like the one run higher, right? Then the female category that trying to get. And so, and then also the cheapest stuff is usually really far down and really high up. Wow, yeah, cereal that comes in the bags. Yep. Yep. That's really interesting. You think you're getting a deal because you're seeing them. This one's the deal right here, but you look down sometimes you can find a deal better that way. Same way they have candy bars at the checkout counters. Yeah, impulse buy, they know what they're doing. But I think that's, that's interesting, right? Because it's all playing to human behavior and impulse and then trial and error.

17:35

That is very interesting. Yeah. So speaking of like grocery stores and CVS, and Walgreens or Walmart and all that, are you guys going to the grocery store or do you feel hesitant about going to the grocery store?

17:48

I am I do not hesitate to send my wife to the grocery store.

Law Smith

17:53

So she can go to the We'll see. I haven't temporarily moved in with my baby mama technically still my wife and He's been handling that. So I'm not scared to do it. I know

3

Speaker 3

18:03

some people are you I'm not either, you know, I'm not either. Some people are and you know, I just try I try to be very cognizant of how everybody feels about it. And there's a lot of strong opinions, right? A lot of strong opinions out there.

Law Smith

18:18

Plus, you're like local celebrity. So you

18:20

got to be on my best behavior. Thank you. That's very sweet. If people

Law Smith

18:22

ever recognize me, they're like, I saw you fart on stage. Comedy Club

18:27

guy with a colonoscopy. Right?

Law Smith

18:29

You guys you got that bit about your ball here. Yeah, this is my mom. She's shopping with me. Yeah, so that's the only thing that that's the thing that's really weird is like, I can't see my parents and we're trying to write and they want to drive by and see me with the kids. I'm doing PE with the kids every day. So I try to have a structured schedule if I can.

18:50

Well, you know, I mean, it's not

18:54

Wow, okay, long drop.

3

Speaker 3

18:56

That is hard like with a robot with the parents, right like Do you think? I mean, there's certain people that I feel really should be protected. Yeah. And with I have a lot of friends to have. Who do parents live here? And they can't see the kids or the grandkids? Yep. Yeah. And that's, I mean, and that parents are,

Law Smith

19:19

like, driven around the park. We're at the drop off cookies. Like it's a bomb. Oh, really? Yeah, that drop, dead drops.

19:27

And your parents live.

4

Speaker 4

19:28

My parents live in our neighborhood. So they they're lucky. You know, they get to see my kids every day. So, but they're not going anyway.

19:36

Right, you know,

19:38

inside our little, little group. It's a strange, isn't it? It's like we were living in the twilight zone or something. Yeah,

Law Smith

19:45

I think it's interesting. I you know, I'm honestly surprised many people that followed the protocol. You weren't Yeah, yeah. Because, I mean, I don't know it maybe for our own self interest. I think it's an interesting Look, I was listening to someone talk about. This just means we're a part of history because almost every generation in history had something like this. Yes. And we just been really fortunate that we haven't. There's something in 68 1968, but it wasn't this bad. And then like, every generation, especially you get you get earlier than 1900. It's like, Oh, this was just commonplace, like you would lose. You just lose a whole day you get sick and you die. Right? Doesn't matter what it is. What? The town? Yeah. No, that's is.

3

Speaker 3

20:33

That's so interesting, though, that you guys mentioned that because Sammy and I, you know, my 12 year old, she and I were, were taking the walk and she was the one that brought it up. And she said, and it's so true, like when she's a parent or when she's older. Her children are going to be reading about this in history books, right? It's so I mean, your grandma. Yeah. Yeah.

20:54

Yeah. No III agree Mr. Grazie.

21:01

She's 12 Let's, let's give it some time. Just

21:03

Yeah, gently. Yeah. Nobody. Yeah, I mean,

21:08

I think it's interesting that she thought of that. Yeah, I didn't think that like that, you know? Yeah, she's

Law Smith

21:15

very adult and for 12 she's an old soul. I was like, could I put this lizard on? See we put the bottle rockets in the side of our bikes. Oh, we put hold the handles off the whole site and use it to aim if that makes sense. I'll do one better. We used to get PVC pipes cork the bottom of them and then put them like rocket launchers. And everybody wore sunglasses so we want to be safe. Yeah.

3

Speaker 3

21:39

Hey, speaking of glasses, I mentioned this when you were doing your advertising. Yeah. And you're like well, Kirby Parker he said you know like where my dollar store lashes I were dollar store glasses all the time. I've every single color an animal prints, an animal brand, some type of brand or whatever. But my speaking of Sammy, she loves Warby Parker. They've done a good job. She isn't Mommy please. And yes, I will say mommy until he horrify that's it. I can't believe that. You said that. I call you mommy. I don't call you mommy anymore call you Mama. Oh, you know? Yeah, Mama. Okay, well, whatever mommy to me, but she has begged me begged me to get Warby Parker. Yes, she loves

Law Smith

22:20

glasses. They've done a good job being not only disrupted but they went. They went online to offline retail. So they went there. Yeah, they they did basically what Apple did. Apple didn't want to open stores. And then they just did it just I think more for the customer service part of it, you know, have the Genius Bar and stuff, right. And then the stores became massively popular, like way more than they expected. They thought I would just kind of keep people keep them as lifelong customers kind of thing so that you had a place to go to get to get service and then maybe buy and then it just became Oh, they bought more, Warby Parker kind of did the same strategy where they're like we're going to post up in other existing businesses that are a little bit more eclectic, a little bit different. So here we have Matt Oxfordshire Yeah, which is like a hodgepodge. It's, you know, it's like a collective. Yeah, it's like expensive Cracker Barrel because you go right out of the restaurant is like this really expensive knickknacks store that I don't know anybody that would buy from it, but right um, but then in the bookstore they section now apart for Warby Parker. I just I like the story I heard them on. What's the guy Roz podcast? Where he interviews businesses anyway?

23:44

Yes.

Law Smith

23:46

Something you should know. No, it doesn't matter. But I liked their story because it was for Northwestern kids that just were like wire I glassware. Why is it three 300 to like, my dad's or $900 So, you're to the new one. Yeah. $900 and I was like, I thought you hate listen to our podcasts we have an advertiser.

24:08

Wow. Like I know, I know.

Law Smith

24:11

And they look like the madman ones. They're like the tortoise speed kind of looking. And I'm like they have those those were like, wow in now, because I know and I go Yeah, you got a job by someone. I think he went old school he goes to like an old man's eyeglass where he the last hurry. Yeah, he won't buy like suits or anything.

24:30

Well, your Warby Parker glasses that those are Yep, your Warby Parker? Yes, yes, it was very, very nice. Thank you. Well, they're thinner.

Law Smith

24:36

They're real. He's always. I'm 2021 is 2015. The other I wear because it helps me. It strengthens my eyes while I drive. Oh, but I wear because I'm a team player. So we're yours, Eric. I'm sorry.

24:53

You can do you also have a pair not Warby Parker

Law Smith

24:56

and he has sunglasses that are prescription. He wears them like Ray Charles inside sometimes it's because I want you to think I'm sleeping and you will talk to me. Well, why don't you just draw eyes? eyelids? I made a joke. I cut

25:08

the ping pong ball in half and

Law Smith

25:10

tape on there but dog ate it. So what else? What else have we learned? And by we I mean you because I don't I don't know. I feel like I'm starting to go cuckoo not seeing people and whatnot.

3

Speaker 3

25:24

No, you know, it's I mean, it's really really hard like a friend of mine sent me a little saying that I I posted and it talked about how for a hugger, the struggle, the struggle is real hunger. Yeah,

25:36

I am such a hugger. Yeah. And so now, you have to be so Cognizant, you know, not

Law Smith

25:41

aside your real house. I'm a real, genuine chair handed on the back.

25:45

And real high, right. And now I mean, I'm telling you folks, the struggle is real high.

Law Smith

25:52

It is hard CUT TO Serena just hugging the love

25:55

languages. If you're a touch person. You're in trouble right now.

3

Speaker 3

25:59

No, I think it's really Really hard and speaking about the being alone and isolating and things like that, you know, just talking to my friends via zoom or on the phone. I'm sorry, zooms not doing it. It's not doing enough for me. Well, I'm trying to do that with friends. I'm just like, people are just going nuts though, you know, I mean, I mean, it's there's only so many zoom calls you make and it's only you know,

Law Smith

26:22

people it's I mean, I know it's I know it's really taking really taking its toll. So words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, physical touch. Those are the five

26:36

I think I'm I mean, I'm just in love with love.

26:40

I don't care about gifts, right as a claim.

26:44

Just a lover.

26:45

I am I've set up seven couples that have gotten married. Yeah. Wow. I remember. Yeah.

Law Smith

26:51

I thought I was impressive. I got two and I was like, you look at me,

26:54

right? Yeah. What

Law Smith

26:56

I've made I bet I actually married one of them.

27:00

Married somebody. Yeah.

Law Smith

27:01

I mean, because I put them together. Yeah. They're like, you're gonna tell you're gonna tell jokes. I was like, No,

27:06

that's really cool. So, okay,

Law Smith

27:08

I don't want I don't want y'all to not be married if I didn't if I do this wrong. So did

27:11

you get a certain date? Yes or No, there were days

Law Smith

27:16

on Universal Life Church. anybody needs to do it. It's $8 online. You can literally do it the night before. Like I did offer code slash sweat.

27:25

Yeah.

Law Smith

27:26

Tell them you heard it on this podcast if they have that little over $4

27:31

I'm sorry. I

Law Smith

27:32

yes, it. They're married seven, five years ago.

27:36

Yeah, two or three years ago.

Law Smith

27:39

My friend Brendan, marry me. He did the same thing. Yeah, really? Wow. God ordained okay. Yeah, it's for

27:45

eight bucks. He funded it. Hey, listen, if anybody asked me to connect the ceremony, are you kidding? I probably start crying. I'd be so excited. I mean,

Law Smith

27:56

do you even actually have to be ordained or do you You get to be a witness and I had to like a bride to like sign something I have to give them a proof of that or more gain. I mean, it's a joke, but you still have to have something. Yeah, that's where it's at. Yeah, get that quick. You were the ceremony. Five minutes tops. Yeah, it wasn't longer than that. And this one I do is outside. I was like, it's January here. So it was like, it was okay. Weather so cold to sit outside for very long. So I was like, I'm not adding any flavor to this. This is going as quick as it can. So everybody can get inside, right? Yeah, drink a party. That's what they want to do. Right. So,

28:36

yeah, such coming from a male's perspective. I mean, I don't think women want it longer than five minutes. But listen, I know what you guys think.

Law Smith

28:45

That's why women call me bearish. Women have always called me quick. Women always apologize. Sorry. You're so hot. Sorry. So hot. Sorry.

28:55

Some of that emotion. You

Law Smith

28:56

know, what do you mean? Yeah, it was still there just in a speech. speeches afterwards to walk down the aisle you cry then.

29:03

Good Yeah, good crying the room

3

Speaker 3

29:06

isn't gonna be great though when we can finally start going to weddings. Speaking of just trying to get back to normal, again.

29:13

depends if

3

Speaker 3

29:14

it's an auto setting, going to events. Let's talk about like for me, yes, I love going to a wedding but just just in general like going to an event going out to dinner. Taking your kids to a movie. I don't.

Law Smith

29:27

You're gonna take my kids to the movie. Please. I think that's why I'm going nuts. Honestly, it's not that different. I didn't realize how much of an indoor cat I actually am. But I do like being around people. I just don't. I don't need. I like that. It's a it's happening. I think what I was telling Eric on a previous episode was that I just don't like that. I can't go do it. Right. Yeah. Like, I can't go to the gym. I don't need to be around them. I don't need to go to the gym. Really. I just don't like being told you can't do it.

3

Speaker 3

29:59

It's hard. I mean, it definitely is hard knowing that we you know, you can't do things in, you know, to your point, though earlier when you said that you were surprised that so many people were actually following the rules. Oh, yeah. Regulations. I, it was nice to see actually it was true like, it was, it was surprising to me as well, and how so many people just started to follow all those rules and regulations without a lot of prodding at all. They just

Law Smith

30:27

did it. The best comparison I can make is when there's when you when you think everybody's kind of just being as shitty as possible. It's just humans in society. I always look to when there's a fire truck or ambulance. People still get out of the way. I was gonna say just traffic in general, the fact that there's

4

Speaker 4

30:45

not 40 people dying on the roads every day. If you think about it, it's really quite amazing. There's 40 people. I mean, like, if you're a little tight, you know what I'm saying? Like there's not a million people dying like because you're driving around in these giant metal missiles and everybody follows the rules so that we all don't die the same thing, you know,

Law Smith

31:03

but the thing when there's an emergency van, and people, people get out of the way, they know they're not gonna get arrested if they didn't, and you could easily just, you know, fall behind one of those. Yeah, but it's thing that people still they don't hit each other in traffic normally. And then when there is a call to action to move they do so. It is strange. I just don't there's still always like 10% of people that don't do anything when a fire tracker or urgency vehicles go. So I don't know. I'm surprised because, but I've said I was predicting on this show. We're not going to do well, once we find out more information and people are going to be like, because I'm in that zone right now where I'm like, Okay, I think we're going to be alright. And it's time to go back to work. I'm in that kind of headspace. And I feel like a lot of Americans are now too Yeah. Well, we gave it two weeks once now. It's like, I've been I it's been six I think. I don't even know. Yeah. So I know because I haven't been at my own place. Oh, that's right. So, and a bunch of my kids, the majority of like, that's the hard part. But normal data. That's a hard thing to be like, Oh, you're still here. Oh, quiet time. Can I just try to put kids down for quiet time? I didn't know that. Quiet Time. I can't call it nap time because they will freak out. So I had to rebrand it as quiet time. Well you don't have to take nap but you're gonna have to be quiet and stand still and they'll fall asleep.

32:40

Oh my gosh, it's so I can trick them into look at that you actually even rebranding that?

Law Smith

32:45

I had to lay down with him to do it. experiential marketing. It sucks. I have to lay down like I'm gonna go to sleep and then I fall asleep on the ground sometimes. My arms my arms, dead shoulders. You know rebrand successful. Yeah. That's why I didn't get here at whatever. 345 when I thought was napping, I fell asleep trying to get them asleep right

33:08

now, because it's like, oh man, now I have to meditate. I can't do this. Well speaking of kids, I am doing a piece on children and their views. Oh virus and I started interviewing a couple of kids and I have to say I mean your daughter who's the most poignant

33:29

she actually called

3

Speaker 3

33:32

me does not like to be on camera on video, anything at all. And so I said to her, I said, You know, I if you don't want to, you don't have to don't feel like you have to do it because you'll produce Oh my god, she hates it. She hates it, any of it. She all of it like her friends, any all her friends was like,

33:51

oh, I'll be interviewed or, you know, because you're around. She's surrounded so much.

3

Speaker 3

33:56

I think that I think part of it is that she's around it so much. too, she's more introverted and right and she's done a lot but she feels like she's had she has had to do it because of my job. You know, like we did this mother daughter shoot prior to all this stuff they it's a it's a national shoot it hasn't aired yet because everything you know that's happening, but the shoot was about mothers that work all the time with crazy hours and how their kids are adapting. And I said to the producer, like do you think maybe I can use one of our friends

34:39

like to pretend to be my daughter? You have to you?

34:43

You know, you have to

34:45

use your real daughter

Law Smith

34:47

to put something in the bottom out real daughter's not

3

Speaker 3

34:49

real daughter. I said Sammy, I will because you know, he's braver. Yeah, she was really sweet to explain it a little bit better they wanted like real moms and They're kids not just because sometimes if I get asked to be a real Margarita,

35:07

it'll help. You're gonna have them one day.

3

Speaker 3

35:10

Well, she said she did. agreed to do it. I was shocked. Yeah, I was shocked. And she said, Now it's your job. And you know, I'll do it. And so when they the producers interviewed her I have to say, I was so surprised at how well I had Well, she did. Yeah.

35:30

Yeah, so I suppose is probably oh my gosh, he was really sweet was really sweet. Like, you know, like,

35:35

Where's my eyeline?

35:37

He was really sweet. I was like, Wow,

Law Smith

35:39

so what's what what is the campaign you're doing to get kids point of view on this? Yeah.

3

Speaker 3

35:45

So you know, you know, I told you guys I just did the one on mission critical courtrooms. That has not aired yet that will be airing but who knows by the time

35:53

we start? Yeah, you're kind of stockpiling like check it out. Content sounds like she's she's a journalist. Gotta keep it coming. I know. sharing your story.

Law Smith

36:02

I've seen the four Emmys that are playing.

36:05

Yeah.

Law Smith

36:06

Well brag for brag about them. So we'll brag. Yeah. I know you guys are so so you're getting kids? Is it like kids say the darndest things about quarantine?

3

Speaker 3

36:15

No, you know, it's very, so the whole thing. The whole thing started. Sorry. Well talking to see me when she mentioned about she's gonna be teaching, you know, when she's an adult, her kids will be learning about that. Right? So I thought I said, Gosh, wouldn't it be interesting to see kids reaction? So there was one little boy that very athletic play sports all the time. And he said the thing that he misses the most is passing the football with his dad. I mean, they still do it right. Why can't they still do it with his friends like him in his dad, which is great. So now you know, like, he's so proud of his dad's arm is very good. He's so proud of his dad. He loves spending time with his dad and his favorite thing to do was like have like a few of his friends around and play ball with his dad. Well, now his dad, he loves being able to play with his dad. Right? But now it's like, okay, it's just me and my dad, which is great, but he misses his friend,

4

Speaker 4

37:16

right? Yeah. Oh, I have my five year old Rocco's saying I miss school. Oh, like, Whoa, what are you? What are you doing? Whoa, you know, it's just sick of everybody's sick of each other. It's like, just, he was hanging out with his buddies. You know? It's crazy. Like, I never thought he would be the one like

37:36

I'm missing school. Yeah, you know that they really they're really worried when

Law Smith

37:40

when Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We had a dog died the last couple of weeks. So we're getting asked not laughing at the dog. Sorry.

37:51

We're getting asked that.

Law Smith

37:55

My dog I'm like, I wish you're in school right now in this moment right now. asking me about Yeah pokies with the new home Oh yeah new home. You're like the trips the body but no, no, my daughter repeats like she has good recall. She's like monkeys in a new home. You know like, why Yeah, we already did this. I thought it's not done. We're not done.

38:15

She bless her heart.

Law Smith

38:17

And then you know it Yeah, getting cabin fever. So it's just like it's Yeah, it's tough on that but what what? Because we're needing to wrap this episode up, but what what's coming up other than the children's POV and the courts and all that stuff Anything else? I just

3

Speaker 3

38:39

did something and it was on big storm brewing company. Yeah, like them so they're clear water and

Law Smith

38:49

precision garage. Fat Boy beer drinker. That's how I roll.

3

Speaker 3

38:53

It was pretty cool though. The two companies together do great marketing and yeah, they made sanitizer and there Yeah, sanitizer yeah tiser So I did a little piece for them and and that's coming up i did i mean i'm very serious now I did a lot of work with one blood because there was a critical need for blood. Yeah, blood supply because everything was closed like the schools were closed the rallies you know are shut down catered by the family who's amazing there were no blood drives, right. catering by the family locally here held the drive. Yeah, but thankfully, I mean, more and more people are donating, donating there you know, signing up and going to the donation centers and the big red buses are still out there. You just have to find them but to get that message out. We went It was the first time in history that it was that low Really? Yeah, so that was you know, I don't even know my own blood type. I don't either you know if you're single I don't know either into sammys Oh, little thing he asked me Today, she said, Do you want to type? And she said, I said, You know, I really don't know you think you should know your blood type, especially since you're dreaming stories for

Law Smith

40:11

sure. Yeah.

40:13

Enough with the smart, miss.

Law Smith

40:16

Well, I think that's what I really think that's what you're getting out of the children's point of view. Really, when you're asking him that, hey, let me ask a human that isn't really dealing with all the adult anxiety that's getting in the way of clearing your head. Think about these things, right? Because it's very easy to be especially the little boys like what do you miss? It's like, well, I only have five things going on in a day. Right? Like one of them is gone. One one. Yeah. And then he's probably trying to like I my head immediately went to Well, why can't y'all just get like, pretty far away, get some receiver gloves and throw the football. And I'm surprised you haven't tried that, you know, kind of thing, but I I know there's like a workout. Class my older sister still doing and they're all you know, in their own like, cubicle in the field and start doing

41:07

nothing, but

Law Smith

41:10

I had definitely we could talk more but we try to keep these, you know? Yeah, under under an hour at least but uh

41:19
